Thermodynamic properties of liquid bismuth under pressure: New regularities and an equation of state

A new regularity for internal pressure has been introduced based on the suggested potential energy function in liquid bismuth. Both experimental data and calculated quantities from power law equation of state have used to show validity regularity. The quantity X3Z−1 is a linear ln(X) with crossing points all isotherms at high temperature, where X=VVm0, V, Vm0, Z are molar volume, volume melting point zero pressure, compressibility factor. For reduced isothermal bulk modulus B*=BTVRT Zint=PintVRT, BT, R, T Pint modulus, gas constant, temperature regularities that both X3B*−1 X3Zint form versus nearly along each isotherm. However, those derived values experiments become nonlinear functions large isotherms. Based state, analytical expression thermodynamic properties bismuth can be obtained. different extreme exist energy, isobaric heat capacity, isochoric capacity state.
